The chief public health officer of Canada recently published a paper with collaborators in a peer-reviewed journal in which they claim the measures put in place by the Canadian government (such as lockdowns, face mask mandates in general population and vaccines) enabled to save nearly 1 million people from death. As a reply to this claim, we (Prof Denis Rancourt, Dr Marine Baudin and Dr Jérémie Mercier) wrote an article in which we demonstrate this vision is absurd and lacks any solid foundation, as official "COVID-19 deaths" data exceed all-cause mortality excess in the Covid period.
